Operation Badar is a not-for-profit educational movement to spread knowledge about web, mobile, and cloud computing. We strongly believe that most of the applications within the next few years will be built for “the cloud” — the Internet. These applications will be accessed form the desktop as well as mobile devices. Microsoft, Google, Apple, etc. are currently developing web, mobile, and cloud computing platforms. We plan to provide the learning material and resources for students and professionals globally, to help them learn how to build Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) using these intenet based platforms.

The organizers of Operation Badar have no financial interest in the program; the fees charged to students are being used to cover the cost of utilities, facilities, teaching, etc.

We think that the Cloud & Mobile Computing revolution provides an excellent opportunity to address the economic and unemployment problem, especially in the third-world. Instead of giving people fish, let us teach them to how to catch fish. Let us provide them with skills which are highly sought after by employers all over the world and will also give them a chance to become entrepreneurs of the future.
